Of all the things that make parties this time of year great, the outfit is the thing we look forward to most. The preparation, the chatting, the sequins; frankly it’s a bit of a military operation before you even get the invites! Precision and planning are key.
Lucky then we’ve been planning- seriously- as soon as bikinis were out, Christmas dresses were in. We couldn’t help it! Anyway, here’s our all-purpose party guide. An outfit for every girl, done and dusted. See what you think.
This one’s a classic- short, sparkly and full on festive! For high-shine impact team with a holographic clutch- who says the disco ball should steal your thunder?? Top tip: practice your walk before showing off these super high heels. Entering a party from the floor is never a good look.
From a classic to the alternative; who needs a dress when you have faux fur, sequins AND print!? This is a whole lotta’ look and something we think would be perf for a night out with the girls. Coat check is advisable though- pastel pink fur will NOT appreciate being thrown on the floor with the bags while you hit the d floor. Not at all.
2014 may officially have been the year of the co-ord. We’ll check the record but we’re pretty sure that’s a fact. From the fruity, printed pieces of SS14, we’re now all about metallic and lace but, still, doubled up. We love this little Pink Soda option and while you’re flashing the flesh up top, ring the changes with some patterned tights down below. So cool and so much warmer!
Playsuits, while maybe not being ideal for group loo trips (learnt from bitter experience) are a nice alternative to a dress, mainly cos’ you can jump up on the table and dance all night with no one seeing your pants! Always a plus. This one has a nice bit of sparkle, perfect for the season.
Max up on glam with a maxi dress! Obvi you don’t want to take thing too seriously, but that’s where the slit and sequins come in. Lavish Alice have been doing great things with party dresses this year- it’s all about the structure! Accessorising with a reindeer is however, optional.
THE SPORTS LUXE LOOK
For all you tomboys out there, sporty styling is the way forward- oh so Rihanna! This Fenchurch varsity dress is a STEAL at just £8, so you can spend your extra dolla’ on the accessories. We’ve gone with hi tops and high socks on Shea here but you can get mixing your genres and pull out the platforms. This is a look that says you don’t really care so go wild!
